Aullidos viscerales. Guitarras entramadas en impenetrables olas de distorsión y feedback. Ritmos electrónicos en falso contacto. Cadencia tribal, hipnótica y primitiva. Estructuras que tambalean. Un álbum caóticamente inigualable. Espontáneo, de quiebre.
La crítica consideró que esta primera producción presentaba a Mutantes Melancólicos eléctricos y despojados como Big Black; entre sus máquinas de ritmo y el noise de sus guitarras. Otros dijeron que el primer tema sonaba como una versión libre de “Estallando en el océano” de Sumo. Sin embargo, Madrid asegura que por esos años no podía dejar de escuchar ni a The Birthday Party ni a Einstürzende Neubauten.
Las preocupaciones apocalípticas que se planteaban en las canciones se ven reflejadas en las imágenes de la portada. Se sabe que el profesional de la desinfección que facilitó la máscara de protección contra gases tóxicos con la que se lo ve a Madrid en la tapa del álbum, nunca salió de su asombro al ver un joven con traje y corbata que le pedía prestado su equipo para tomarse fotografías.

A REVOLT THAT STRIKES UNTIL IT MELTS
IN AN UNDERLYING DRUNKEN FORCE

Visceral howling. Guitars that knit impenetrable waves of distortion and feedback. Electronic beats through faulty wiring. Tribal cadence, hypnotic and primitive. Structures that tumble down. A chaotic album that can´t be matched. Spontaneous, a breakthrough. The critics found Mutantes Melancólicos´ first production as electric and stripped down as Big Black; in between their drum machines and their guitar noise. Others said that the first song sounded like a free version of “Estallando en el océano” by the Argentinean band Sumo. Even though, Madrid affirms that back in those days he couldn´t give up listening neither to The Birthday Party nor to Einstürzende Neubauten.
The apocalyptical concerns that arise from this bunch of songs are beautifully shown on the cover images. The disinfection professional that provided the toxic gas protection mask that Madrid wears on the album cover was astonished when this young guy in a suit and tie borrowed his equipment for a photo session.
