about

ECLECTIC AND STRIPPED DOWN ROAMING
THAT LOOKS FOR A PERSONAL LIGHT

The posthumous Mutantes Melancólicos´ album wasn´t created as a conceptual unity nor an excuse to explore combinatorial possibilities offered by sound; it compiles previously unreleased songs, alternate takes and demos. This material was recorded in different moments of this musical project´s lifetime. The songs are set up in the chronological order in which they were recorded, what lets the listener to be aware of the evolution in experimentation and the different interests that fed each stage of the project.
From the album´s second half we start to perceive the influence of Madrid´s collaboration with the pop band Asustados Unidos; where we can see him increasingly interested in writing songs and singing memorable choruses, what can be thought as the germ for his next project: NO:ID.. It is good to remember that the third recorded version of the song “Club nocturno” was done by this band and renamed as “Cabaret”. That version is included on the album “Sang” and while listening to it we can understand its evolution and the need of the second version of “Club nocturno” offered on “Malditos, Errantes, Marginales, Desplazados, Olvidados, Abandonados”.

about

Gustavo Madrid Buenos Aires, Argentina

For his songs, he prefers sentences that act like lashes, images, ideas; that are musical, without a complete or obvious sense and, if it´s possible, the ones that can awaken questions to be left unanswered. ... more
