about

FROM A ROTTEN GROOVE TO A NAÏVE AMBIENT
THAT GOES INTO A HYPNOTIC AND CYNICAL TRANCE

Mutantes Melancólicos wipe dust off their 4 distortion stomp pedals which, according to what they say, are usually working together in unison. Nonetheless, in this new project the songs show more clarity and more defined structures. Improvisation still plays a major role on the recording sessions fusing with meticulously programmed back-up tracks. The vocals attack firmly and earn a leading role. The pianos and electric organs interact more frequently and take away space from the guitars´ fury. All of this stuff together led the critics to mention that Madrid had stopped abusing noise and that through his visceral babble a few English words could be distinguished.
Madrid remembers that by the time he recorded this songs he used to enjoy music by The Wolfgang Press and Crime and City Solution while reading the Argentinean comic “Boogie el Aceitoso”.

about

Gustavo Madrid Buenos Aires, Argentina

For his songs, he prefers sentences that act like lashes, images, ideas; that are musical, without a complete or obvious sense and, if it´s possible, the ones that can awaken questions to be left unanswered. ... more
