El cuarto álbum de Mutantes Melancólicos presenta un sonido despojado y aterrador. Una guitarra, un piano eléctrico y una trompeta acompañan a esta serie de canciones que despiertan emociones profundas; lo que llevó a que la crítica asegurara que Madrid había comenzado a desmentir su aislamiento y a volverse pasional; logrando que cada impulso encontrara su propio cauce.
Las primeras canciones de esta serie nacieron como banda de sonido para una fotonovela cuya trama futurista y post-apocalíptica requería canciones cuya síntesis en la instrumentación fuera cercana a los discos “Songs for Drella” de Lou Reed / John Cale, “Room Temperature” de Peter Hammill, “The Firstborn is Dead” de Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds. Durante la primera sesión de grabación se cortó una cuerda de la guitarra, lo que obligó a Madrid a darle una afinación diferente a su instrumento. Seguramente ésto colaboró para que el proyecto tomara un rumbo propio y se alejara de las influencias que lo nutrieron en un principio.

OF DELICATE AND ATEMPORAL FORCE

Sounds that will carry you to the less expected future. Full of passion, full of pain. Full of hope, full of threats. Distant moans, heartbreaking silence. Penumbra, rust, nauseous odors.
The fourth Mutantes Melancólicos album presents a scary and bare to the bone sound. A guitar, an electric piano and a trumpet bear the weight of these songs to arouse deep emotions; something that lead the critics to say that Madrid was trying to deny his isolation and become more passionate, letting each impulse out to find its own path.
The first songs from this series were born as the soundtrack for a photo-drama which futuristic and post-apocalyptic plot required songs with a bare instrumentation in the manner of the albums “Songs for Drella” by Lou Reed / John Cale, “Room Temperature” by Peter Hammill, “The Firstborn is Dead” by Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds. while recording the first session, a string from Madrid´s guitar was cut, what forced him to use an alternate tuning for his instrument. A fact that could have helped the project to find its own direction and move away from its original influences.
